NRPEでNagiosPluginsのMySQLチェックスクリプトを導入する

検証環境はCentOS 5.6です。NagiosプラグインであるNRPEを監視対象サーバーにインストールし、MySQLサーバーの監視を行おうとしました。
参考サイトの手順通り進められ、CPU負荷、空きメモリ領域等は正しく取得できたのですが、MySQLの監視結果は以下のようになってしまいました。

NRPE: Unable to read output 

監視対象サーバーを調べてみると、どうやらMySQL監視プログラムが存在しないようです。

/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_mysql

（よくよく確認したら参考サイトにyum -y install mysql-develするように書いてありました）

おかしいなーと思い、コンパイルを行ったディレクトリをあさってみましたがそれらしいバイナリがなさそうです。

仕切り直してもう一度configureを走らせます。

--with-mysqlオプションがnoになっているのを発見。

configureの中身を調べてみます。

  --with-mysql=DIR        Locates mysql libraries. Expects
                          DIR/bin/mysql_config. Default to search for
                          mysql_config in PATH

mysql_configのパスを指定せよとあります。

# ./configure --with-mysql=/usr/bin/mysql_config

だめでした。configureの結果をmysqlで絞り込んでみます。

# ./configure --with-mysql=/usr/bin/mysql_config | grep mysql

install mysql client libs to compile this plugin

MySQLクライアントのライブラリをインストールするように書いてありました。
MySQLクライアント開発用ヘッダをインストールします。

# yum -y install mysql-devel

今度はconfigureもうまく通って、make install後にちゃんとcheck_mysqlのバイナリがインストールされました。
